Well, life in our home-away-from-home continues. Fairly quietly, at least this past week. The insurance adjuster is meeting with our mitigation and restoration team, hashing over the very specific details. I had no clue things could be so incredibly specific about the interior of a home: but there it is, on multiple black and white pages. We are garnering up our questions so we can be organized when we converse with the professionals. Prayers are always appreciated. On a happier note, Hubby and I celebrated 42 years of marriage on Tuesday, 8/4/84. Easy day to remember. And remember we do, very well. We married at Lovers Lane Methodist Church in Dallas, followed by a honeymoon in Galveston, which remains a beloved family vacation locale to this day. All good memories are a gift unto themselves. Anything can spark a good memory – a word, a smell, a color, a person, a place, etc. Those good memories will get you through some trying times, as well as make you smile or laugh out loud. When we recall things our children or grandchildren said or did when they were small, it is like they are right there with us, being incredibly adorable all over again. We treasure those memories, and the fact that we share them makes them even more special. So, my blessing today is my 42 years of marriage to my wonderful Hubby. And God’s gift to mankind of memory, to be able to draw upon one’s own brain to reproduce a moment in time. Our own little world, right there in our heads. How very lovely.
