The prophesy of Isaiah depicts a world that seems completely opposite to the one that we live in, which is why it is so hard for us to accept it. However, if we have truly spent the right amount of time building a foundation of faithfulness and continue to 'test' God, then we can find the true hope and joy in the coming promise of peace.
