Discipleship Pathway
Ephesians 4:11-16
He himself granted that some are apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ. We must no longer be children, tossed to and fro and blown about by every wind of doctrine by people's trickery, by their craftiness in deceitful scheming; but speaking the truth in love, we must grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by every ligament with which it is equipped, as each part is working properly, promotes the body's growth in building itself up in love.
The Church as a Discipleship System
Think of the Christian life as a progression.
- Worship - Encounter Christ: "I have heard God's voice."
- Bible Study - Understand God's Word: "I know what God says."
- Sunday School - Apply God's Word: "I know what obedience looks like."
- Wesleyan Class Meeting - Practice God's Word Together: "I have brothers and sisters helping me live it."
- Everyday Mission - Live as Christ's Disciple: "The world sees Jesus through me."
Each ministry has its own purpose, but none is complete without the others.
Bible Study - Education
Bible Study helps us slow down with the text as we examine Scripture carefully, ask difficult questions of the text, explore and study history and context, learn theology, all so we can learn who God is.
Bible study answers the questions of who God is and what God teaches. Knowledge matters and knowledge of who our God is helps us answer the question of who we are in relation to Him who created us.
Jesus Himself said, "Teach them to observe all that I have commanded you."

Sunday School - Application
Sunday School exists to bridge the Biblical truth and everyday obedience by helping believers apply God's Word through practical wisdom, authentic relationships, and preparation for accountable Christian living.
Sunday school helps us apply the lessons learned in Bible study and the Sunday sermon and asks the question: "What does this passage look like on Tuesday morning?"
Sunday School is where faith becomes practical, helping us wrestle with tough questions like "How do I forgive?" or "How do I honor Christ at work?" or "How do I handle money?". It becomes the laboratory where biblical truth is translated into everyday obedience. James tells us to "Be doers of the word." Sunday School helps us become those doers.

Wesleyan Class Meetings
John Wesley created the Class Meeting as a place for transformation, taking what is learned in the Sunday sermon, Bible Study, and Sunday School and using it to help the community be accountable to each other, asking questions like, "How is it with your soul?" or "Where did you see God this week?" or "Where di you fail this week?". The Class meeting group encourages one another, lovingly challenging on another toward holiness. This is where discipleship becomes deeply personal.
These classes will form from the Sunday School class with 5 - 6 bands who come together weekly to help each other walk in Christ. This is to be a community who asks the questions, what would Jesus do and then goes and does it.
