Easter is the highest of all Holy Days on the calendar. The day we celebrate the victory of Christ over the grave, and we see our hope in the flesh. The empty tomb is such a joyous sight and an amazing blessing to every believer. We look at the empty tomb as the sign that all of the deadly sins have been conquered, even death has been conquered, and Jesus seeks to make us brand new, as He is brand new. Jesus appears to Mary Magdalene and because He has changed, she does not recognize Him. But by just the mere mention of her name, and her eyes are fixated again on the Master whom she knelt at the feet and learned from. By the power of the empty tomb, we too can hear the call of our own names by the Risen Savior. A call to follow...a call to be made new...a call to break the chains of sin and defeat the power of the grave.
